European Commission Unveils Quantum Europe Strategy
The European Commission has officially adopted the Quantum Europe Strategy, a new policy framework designed to strengthen Europe's position in quantum technologies. The strategy outlines priorities in research, infrastructure, industrialisation, skills, and security, and sets the stage for a forthcoming Quantum Act in 2026.
For EuRyQa, a Horizon Europe project developing a European infrastructure for Rydberg-based quantum computing, the strategy supports several key objectives. These include scaling up quantum platforms, improving interoperability across systems, and establishing standardised benchmarking procedures.
With a focus on coordinated investment, open-access testbeds, and skills development, the EU’s new approach reinforces the importance of collaborative projects like EuRyQa in shaping Europe’s future quantum ecosystem.
